The church through the collective consideration of its members several years ago decided to remain in midtown Sacramento. This was a major decision. Land is cheaper and construction costs less for new buildings located outside the city center. Yet the church felt it's mission could best be served by remaining at its present location. The challenge this offers is expanding in a location which brings with it physical constraints.

Trinity Cathedral is located in midtown Sacramento. Extensive construction surrounds the church as the midtown is revamped with urban growth. Trinity is the Cathedral for the Escopial Diocese of Northern California. Trinity Episcopal Cathedral is also the home of a very vibrant congregation striving to serve the needs of the greater Sacramento area.

The programs and activities at Trinity continue to expand as the church lives its mission statement, "… a growing community making disciples who love and serve Christ and His world. ". In order to accommodate this growth the physical facilities are changing and expanding. A list of the extensive programs available can be viewed at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.

Trinity is a unique faith community. Not only does it offer multiple programs for anyone who wishes to participate, it engages in a dialog with all faith traditions in an effort to break down the barriers which often divide people and communities.

Trinity is now surrounded by a forest of new construction. Sutter Hospital is undergoing major growth and is demonstrating sensitivity to the concerns of the church and the surrounding neighbors. It developed a program with Trinity which offers church members use of its parking garage on Sundays and evenings.

During the coming years the Trinity campus will be expanding primarily through moving upward. This will require coordination with its neighbors, primarily Sutter Hospital. The building program at Trinity is underway. Lots of work is being done by the building committee and others as they undertake extensive planning aimed at constructing a facility which will meet current needs and evolve to meet needs yet unknown. The keys to success at this point are flexibility and creativity. Much time and effort are being expended to allow Trinity to use these keys to unlock the opportunities it hopes to bring to its members and all of Sacramento.
